People often don't open their eyes and truly look at the world. When was the last time you actually saw a piece of grass? We look at a piece of grass and give it the color green and try to water it to keep it that color and alive, but the parts of grass are intricate and well developed. A system much beyond our wildest imaginations. It is an art form. How many other things in this world hold these intricices? So many things we take for granted. Here in the Pacific Northwest we are surrounded by mountains and trees. It makes for a beautiful setting as we drive around, but do we ever stop to truly appreciate the beauty around us? Next time stop and wonder about the many years and planning that it took to create those mountains to what we see today. There are so many signs in this world that we glance past taking them to mean something else, when really they are trying to get our attention and tell us what we have been looking for, but many eyes are clouded by vain wishes and in their heads they think they know what they want and what their life is about, then ask for signs to help them along the way. They look for the signs in the wrong way, they are blinded. Being an art student I look at the world and appreciate each detail. There is much to be learned from nature and it's intricacies. So many colors, so much detail and so little time to really understand it all...take the time.

Throughout my life I have learned many things, though some may say that I am not old enough to really make people listen and that what I have experienced isn't enough. Just wait then, and you will see someday. There have been many things that I have dealt with and because of everything, I have become who I am today. Today I am a junior in college at Pacific Lutheran University. I graduated in 1997 from Curtis High School in University Place, WA. Currently I am seeking a BFA in graphic design and a minor in Spanish. School doesn't take up all of my time though, if it did, I think it would just about kill me with all the work and time I spend doing it. I have always been involved in some kind of water sport starting with swimming for 8 years (four of which were for Curtis's varsity team) and varsity waterpolo for four years. I seem to have moved passed the stage of chlorine infested skin and hair onto rowing for PLU's lightweight varsity crew out on American Lake, way too early in the morning for my tastes. You would have to see the sunrise above Mt. Rainier to understand how much one can enjoy being out on the water surrounded by nothing but water, nature and of course the houses of everyone wishing to be a part of it all. It is like a safety zone where nothing can happen except for the occasional boat flipping, or a speed boat swamping the boat. Other than that the sport is awesome, the feeling you get while rowing with at least one other person, being part of a team (a family), working together to accomplish something and being so in tune with the other minds in the boat that you feel like you are a part of each other. Besides all of this it is a great workout mostly for the legs much to everyone's disbelief. Besides sports and being active I love nature, traveling, and spending time with friends. I am goign to Spain in January for a study abroad program for 5 months so that should be exciting. I also collect quotes and seem to take a little too many pictures, some of which I shared with you on my other pages. Well that is about all for me. Have a great day!
